Bayesian statistics vs frequentist

Hi everyone. My field, buisness, rarely uses Bayesian statistics but instead is in favor of frequentist statistics.

I was recently chewed out by a physicist over on slash-dot for suggesting that we test a hypotheses in a frequentist manner and was told I was a backward hick taught by people who know nothing of SCIENCE!

Some people here are very well trained on either side and I'd like to hear from either camp what they think... I've done a 18hours (6 classes) of graduate level frequentist stuff, but economists use freqentist statistics and I'm 100% for doing the opposite of what economists do, so I recently purchased the puppies on the cover made me think "hey, I can do this, I like puppies!".

My lack of cal-3, otoh, has made me think otherwise...

Having taken a class on Bayesian Statistics I can there is really is room for both. It is foolish for people to limit them self to just bayesian methods or just frequentist methods.

I was hoping that Bayesian statistics would help supplement my extensive frequentist understanding: so that i can better answer questions of interest. I appreciate the information and appreciation is an intentionality.

I took a PhD level theory-oriented Bayesian statistics class in grad school and I still have no clue how to properly apply it in any meaningful way in the real-world.

But, I can solve a mean proof!
