Ah Bay City, near sagnasty I think? I've only been up there a few times, nice city but I'm not too sure about the beaches. You would probably have better luck on google.

If you want good beaches in Michigan head up to the Petoskey and Harbor Springs area.

You could drive an hour or so east into the tip of the thumb to find some beaches, I'm not sure there are any good beaches around bay city. Most of the beaches in Michigan would be on Lake Michigan

The beaches in that area aren't great to be honest. There's Bay City State Recreation Area which is about as good as it gets, but Saginaw Bay shoreline is more wetland/mucky than it is beachy. If you want to drive an hour north of there you can find some nice shoreline.

The best beaches in Michigan, however, are on the west side of the state on Lake Michigan. Saugatuck, for example, is awesome.

OK--a great beach (or any beach) isnt a huge issue--just looking for a place to spend a day/night within a couple hours drive. As long as thier is decent restaurant/place to have a couple of drinks it will be good.

Wow, you're going to be about 20 miles from here.

There are no good beaches in Bay City, because its an industrial town and the Saginaw River dumps in there, with effluent from Dow, and General Motors upstream.

There is a decent beach up at Tawas, which is less than an hour north on Lake Huron.

Ahh--ok--well I think we still may go (not to the beach) but just to relax for a night.
