So after finishing the series I been thinking. What if we humans actually do create sentient robots and we use them to do our bidding.

Would a rebellion occur on the scale that is shown in Battlestar Galactica. Would it spark a war so great that civilizations would have to band together to overcome such a threat.

What do you guys think?

Did Battlestar Galatica illustrate good examples of racist conflicts?

Well, we do use robots. In BSG, the robots that were used became sentient. This was not planned.

That would depend on whether or not the robots develop any goals that would conflict with spending their time serving us. A lot of our cares are because of the very finite nature of our lives, coupled with our evolved survival instincts.

I thought they purposefully created Sentient robots.

How did the robots became sentient on their own?
From what I gathered from the "Caprica" spin off, it was the creators dead daughter's consciousness that she uploaded to a sort of virtual reality social network (read: underage massive rave sex orgy) that he implanted into a cylon to attempt to resurrect her, when that failed he unknowingly spread her traits and personality throughout the line of cylons. The artificial intelligence they were given was expanded by her consciousness, which lead to the sentience among the cylons, and then war, death, and tricia helfers naked body for four glorious years.

What I don't get is why the Cylon would nuke the thirteen colonies.

And shouldn't creator's dead daughter one of the final five?

Watch 'The Plan', maybe you'll understand more about the Cylon's motives if you didn't get it from the series.

And no. The final five are their ancestors who migrated way back from Kobol to Earth and survived their own man vs. robot civil war because they invented 'resurrection technology'. They made the trip back to warn the thirteen colonies about what may happen to them if they continue to do what they're doing (mistreat the machines).

Watch the Plan and rewatch season 4.

No, the dead daughter was just put into a robotic cylon. The final 5 came after the cylon war.
