I am a big BSG fan and was looking for regular DVDs. (No blue-ray for me yet)
Found these deals at amazon.com with good discounts. Even my local Walmart has them for sale in the $30 plus range. Free S/H if you buy more than $25.

Season 1 is $23.99 (60% off)

Season 2.5 is 21.99 (56% 0ff)

The new Battlestar Galactica is a solid show and a great gritty remake of the original. Time magazine calls it "the best show on TV." I believe the last show in Season 2 won a emmy for best drama - the first by any science fiction program. Heck, even my wife loves it and she hates sci-fi.

BTW This is my first hot deals post so go easy on me 🙂

I got season 1 on HD-DVD at Amazon for $13 shipped. Along with a bunch of other HD-DVDs for $5 from a seller whose items qualify for super saver shipping.

Guess picking up that HD-DVD player for my Xbox 360 wasn't a bad move after all!

It totally torques me that they charge the same price for each half of Season 2 as a full season. It. Is. Not. A. Full. Season. They're doing it with season 4 also. Bastards.

Best television show evah! Not just my opinion, also President Obama's.

Seriously, don't forget to pick up the BSG Razor DVD for much needed back story. Available at Buy.com for $9.26.
Disk 1 of Season 4 has Razor on it, so if you plan to buy Season 4 you don't need to buy Razor. Good movie though. Worth a few bucks if you want it now.

Season 1-3 is $19.99 each @costco. That's assuming you have membership and its in stock near you. After tax it's about the same price as amazon, just don't have to wait to get it.

Last time I looked, our local Fry's still had some season 1 on HD-DVD (I can't remember the regular price - I paid $10).

Great show thanks for the post OP! Since It should be decently easy to transcode teh show into HD since I know they now broadcast it HD on SciFi I don't know why they don't get on the ball and just release in Blu Ray but until they do I will just be using the dvds with a little ffshow action.

I also got the Season 1 HD-DVD set.. but it was complete garbage. Terrible packaging and some of the discs were scratched. One of them wouldn't even play. I read up on it and it turns out to be a widespread issue. With this deal, I may repurchase Season 1 on DVD.

Another big problem was that the image quality was awful in the HD-DVD release - it looked like the DVD release most of the time. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but it's pretty clear that they need a new, better transfer for a Blu-Ray release.

Of course, for $10, it's not like it was the end of the world, but it was still disappointing.

That article was really funny for BSG fans.
"Obama Depressed, Distant Since 'Battlestar Galactica' Series Finale."

And I thought I was the only one... 🙂

I thought the mini-series was awful. Very grainy and pixelated. The regular series is pretty good though.

out of all shows ever made, this is just one of the few that has a great beginning and an awesome ending with proper closure that leaves you with a sigh of relief. rarely do any shows have closure these days. this is what makes this show one of the best shows of all time!
