You can get BSG Season 1 and Serenity for $57, also. Didn't see this deal posted anywhere, and I plan on buying both. Enjoy!

Updated title, deal appears to be online only. Sorry for the confusion!

I'm a bit confused......isn't season 2 of BSG only 1/2 over? New episodes starting next month.....are those considered season 3, or what?? Season 2, if it's already over, seemed awfully short, imho.

Battlestar is really really good, and I think it has a high replay value. But I also think that they are pricing themselves out of the market. I love the show and have not purchased a single set. I like it more then the last few seasons of Stargate and I am still buying those. In my mind they need to follow the Stargate model for season sets. (I think only one Battlestar release has had a full length case commentary versus all of what they do on the Stargate releases.)

They seem to be going with the A&E marketing idea which is charge higher prices with a small customer base.

I purchased Season 1 with the Startup miniseries included. It was not that expensive from Amazon and compared to any non E-bay Star Trek stuff. It is a downright steal.

BSG is a very well done series. I am currently watching these with my 13, 15, 17 year old children. We watch two per weekend sort of leading up to the startup of the rest of season 2. I have found BSG to be more entertaining than any Trek or other Scifi in quite a while.

To me it would be $50 well spent in any form. Half season or full.

Good link and keep up the DVD tips for this series.

Hey, on the bright side, it's only $32 if you want the first half of Season 2 (10 episodes). Probably my favorite show in a long time.

Netflix would be the cheaper way if they made BSG 2.0 available. It was at the top of my queue, but Netflix changed BSG 2.0's release date to unknown, effectively taking it out of my queue. I sent them an email asking what's up and they responded by saying something like they can't respond to every single email or some mumbojumbo. It made me wonder if they actually hired someone to send that email to customers, or if they have a program to receive an email from customers like me, wait 9 hours, and then send that email, but it's probably a waste of time to ask that question, and if I get a response I'll probably wonder the same thing.

Oh well so I went and picked up BSG 2.0 and Serenity($32.99 & $17.99 respectively). There's a $10 off deal for buying those two(or BSG season 1 + Serenity), but it didn't seem to work at the register. Maybe it's a MIR, but I was too busy/lazy to check during my lunch break Xmas shopping, and I don't know what the BB employee's excuse would be, but he couldn't figure it out either. Now I need to move Firefly to the top of my queue...

I agree with the others.
40-60 for a 13-16 episode season is way to much money and thats season 1.

I like galactica but I just can't get into it.

Its got a great story, its well made, special effects are great. But when a show breaks up as much as this one does or even stargate's at this point, it looses my interest.
what I mean is, show two episodes then repeat 3 episodes, then show three new episodes, the show 3 or 4 repeats, then show a new episode and show all the previous episodes again before you get a couple of new one's.Its just to hard to get into.

This is why I don't watch series like this when it's being broadcast. I wait till the box sets come out.

OP, thanks for the news taht at least 10 episodes of season 2 are available. If I don't get it for Christmas I'll have to pick it up.

I don't have cable, so I asked for BSG 2.0 for Christmas. It's the only way I can get to see it, though I am VERY annoyed about this half a season crap they're pulling.

Didn't Family guy do something similar with the half seasons, too? Volume 3 (Season 4)? I wonder what's up with this.

Meh. Whatever. Mine's on order. Maybe they'll offer a better deal once Season 2 completes its run...
