Ok, I just went to Fry's last night and bought the Apple 30" Display 
I tried out a few games, like WoW, and at the default 2560x1600 it was not smooth, had to play 1920x1200 game looked like a dream machine. Then played HalfLife2 at the 2560x1600 and to my surprise it played pretty smooth, and looked jaw droppin.
But BattleField2 has been a nightmare with this monitor, I used to play it at 1600x1200 60hz on my old LCD. BF2 would not even open, just drop back to desktop. So I added the new extensions to the short cut for the higher res, and the game works, but it only offers me the 800 or 1024 res as options, nothing higher ?
