Im thinking of buying BF 2 form someone. He registered for an account. If i want to create an account what has to be done? My question is about the cd-key. He has played online before, but not for awhile.

CD keys are not transferable......thats the main reason why....there is noway around this.
According to the rules on these forums even if there was a way around this we are not allowed to discuss it openly on these forums!!

I believe that online access is restricted by allowing on 1 connection per cd key. I think as long as he doesn't play it again, then you should be ok.

Right..... ;)

Personally if I were in your shoes I would just call EA and ask, the worst they can say is "no" and will probably know more than alot of the nerds here.

I was in a similar situation with HL 2, I purchased a retail copy from a website (through the Hot Deal forum) for $15 shipped that had been opened or returned. They warned that the key may have all-ready been used and if so all I would have to do was contact valve and send them the cd's to get a new copy. Thankfully this was not the case as the key had not been used but the solution seemed pretty straight forward.

Good luck!
