Battlefield Vietnam Broken Need to FIX

I bought battlefield Vietnam the same day I bought unreal. I hate swapping the cd's so I dled the NO CD from game copy world. I own both of the games so i thought it wouldn?t be a problem. Well i didn?t realize it would make a potential problem with PUNKBUSTER. Also now I can?t uninstall or reinstall the game at all. Under add remove programs it comes up as Battlefield Vietnam but it says it s 0k in size. I don?t know what this "NO CD PATCH DID" now all I want to do is undo it. If you know how this program works please tell me or if you know what i can do to get the game working normally again i would appreciate it.

Most NO CD patches replace the main executable with one smaller in size that doesn't have the CD check. That's why I always back up the primary .EXE file when I choose to use these patches.

Why not just delete the entire BFV directory and reinstall from scratch? Can't find the original CD's?

No when i put in the cd, the only option is to uninstall and uninstalling doesn?t work. There is no option to install, or reinstall. I've never uninstalled a program not using the ADD/REMOVE programs feature in windows. I wouldn?t know where to start. Deleting all the files would just create more issues, or allow me to reinstall the game? And i HONESTLY OWN THE GAME! :|

I seemed to fix it with the server patch thing. The game works now without the cd in punkbuster games, but i still can't uninstall. I want it all back to normal so HOW do i manualy uninstall without add/remove programs!?

I couldn't play in punkbuster games with invalid an invalid cd key!

try executing the setup.exe on the install CD. Also, you might want to go pic up Regvac and run it, see if that helps you out. You might have to delete all folders, reg entries, and start from scratch. To do this properly, I would contact tech support and tell them of the issue (cant uninstall).

Next time, just swap CDs dude

go to regedit and search for the game publishers name or company name, or game name. remove all instances.

reinstall

curse the cd check, i hate it. but no choice now.

The No cd exe needed some sort of server dl before it would work. I wasnt running a "server" so i didnt donwload it. After dling the "server" patch it now works with punkbuster. But i still cant uninstall the Focker! Here is what the nfo file of the "pre no cd server file" said

"This release will disable key checking if you are running your own server, furthermore it will still allow your server to be listed on gamespy. Also it will keep the checksum of your client intact, identical to the store retail. So with a valid key you can play on normal retail servers too. But just dont try to unistall it!"

I added the last sentence.

If u want to uninstall the game use RevoUnistaller. It worked for me when i could never uninstall Battlefield 2. Click the game you want to uninstall than after tat wait than delete any left overs of the game u uninstalled. So hopefully it works for u cause it worked for me.
