Battlefield Hardline trailer

I'm inclined to believe DICE isn't exactly at fault when they work for EA. I'm sure EA pushed them to release things before they were ready and now they are stuck with that.
All I know is Battlefield 4 was a mess and the online portion for the reboot of medal of honor was trash, and they were responsible for that too.

That's how I feel, but I similarly feel that they did a crappy job of fixing things in a timely manner. That, and I have a hard time feeling badly for a team who opts to get in bed with EA.

If you were a dev and EA offered you nearly unlimited funding, you'd go too.

That's probably true, but I think I personally hate them too much to accept, haha. It's more that I have a hard time believing that no one else would have given them funding. Ubisoft and Take-Two could use a FPS like Battlefield, for example.

But you're right, that it's hard to turn down EA's gobs of money, and without knowing the options (or lack thereof) that DICE had, it's not fair to say that they could have easily gone elsewhere.

I haven't had any issues with BF4 on the PC or PS4 (I came in late to the PS4 version and know many people had issues early on). I also had no issues with either of the new MoH multiplayer modes, and actually really enjoyed the MP on the MoH: Tier 1 or whatever it was called.

still doesn't mean that you have to put out a shitty product though.

The problem on that end is that EA allegedly rushed the game to market to beat CoD, despite DICE's saying it wasn't ready. It might not be true, but not a soul would be surprised if it was, right?

Early on even on PC it was nearly unplayable. Nothing worked...couldn't connect and when you did it wasn't very stable. Some people even had corrupted campaign save files due to their server issues.

Dice has NEVER released a stable Battlefield game before, people try to blame EA but it happens with every release so it's definitely not EA's fault. Every single one has had tons of bugs, game breaking bugs. It comes with the territory. That said, I love Battlefield games and will always buy them, bugs and all.

I found Battlefield 4 on Xbox 360 to be a major pain in the butt. Always some kind of problem. I usually don't play for a couple weeks, try it again hoping things will work right, but they never do. Can't see myself buying add-ons for something that is broken.

I got lucky then, I guess. I started on PC, maybe not day 1, but within the first week and didn't have any issues, though it may have crashed to desktop once or twice now that I think about it. Anyway it's fine now and it beats the hell out of CoD for campaign or MP. Personally I like what DICE puts out, but maybe I'm just not that picky.

See DICE is pretty good but EA calls the shots and I believe EA runs the servers. If the servers are not right that is EA I think. The game's code was not done, the engine was but as you can see from the number of patches they released, they really weren't prepared.
