Battlefield: Hardline Postponed

They already said it's too implement changes based on feedback during the beta period. There's a lot of venom in your post though, guess you woke up needing to get something off your chest. Feel better now?

They probably do need to fix multiplayer but I still can't understand why people are focusing on that being the game. It's focus is the single player game developed by Visceral.

I'm pretty sure most people buy Battlefield games for the multiplayer. The company may have said something that lead you to believe the focus was on singleplayer, but I think they know where the real money is coming from.

Besides having a real story (2 cops taking the criminal underworld by storm). They have Visceral a developer that has only been working on single player games doing the development for this game. I know why people buy Battlefield games, but this is a cop and robber game that using the BF art style and and a lot BF materials to leverage the BF names. But it's not a real BF game and everything that has come out about the game outside the MP beta should have established this over and over. But then everyone of the Hardline threads on this forum basically just goes on about how the game obviously sucks because the MP experience they had was weak.

Good decision. I think it was pretty obvious to them that the game would be a massive failure if they aimed for an October release. That's still a few months away and there's already so much negativity and poor reception about it on the internet (mostly comments about it being a $60 BF4 expansion pack). So yeah, this was probably smart.

I might actually consider picking it up now. I hate multiplayer games that do yearly releases.

I never played the beta but there wasn't anything that really made it appeal to me over BF4. Perhaps the extra time will change that.

Wait a minute... does this mean that this will be the first Christmas in the past decade or so where EA won't have a new Battlefield game?

Ooh, that's gonna hurt earnings. Oh well, at least they still have the Madden money stream to return to yearly.

Uhm... The battlefield series has been bi-yearly for quite some time. Do you have anything worthwhile to say, or are you just thread crapping?

As for Hardline, I am glad its being delayed. The beta had some cool ideas, but needed work. I think the beta did its job very well. it gave players a way to test, and then give feedback. EA took it to heart and will be making changes based on that feedback. Looking forward to what changes they make.

Guys, this game was delayed because They were trying to DO TOO MUCH. If they were like other (cannot name names) companies that didn't innovate enough, the game would have been right on-time with the same-old content.

:whiste:

I don't think they tried to do too much. This delay is about doing more to make it seem like its not yet another battlefield 3 expansion.

The gameplay was just too like BF4, it felt like a simple expansion of it. It even included the rubbish netcode that BF4 was famous for, then fixed (and then broke again with the recent DLC). It is a game mode for BF4 and not a lot else. It was fast and furious combat and that doesn't suit the setting very well.

IMO what it needs is some life in its city (civilians, news crews etc), the weapons toned down so its a bit more cops and robbers and not american army and the vehicles need a bit of weight and pace adjustments. Respawn needs some work as well, I think it should be quite a bit longer in this type of game.
