battlefield games locking up.

okay, my system specs are in my sig. i've added a bfg 6800gt oc to my system in the last few weeks, but i've played bf42 since then and it ran fine. in the last few days however, it locks up after a few minutes, then sits for about 10 seconds, frees up, lets me play a few minutes, then locks again. over and over. i thought maybe it was a network problem, tried another card, no dice. tried a fresh load of xp, fresh load of win2k, latest official drivers, latest beta drivers. it also does this in battlefield vietnam. however, if i play far cry or doom 3 i have no issues. nor did i have problems playing half life source or half life 2. i can't imagine it'd be the video card but nothing else has been added to the system lately. any ideas? i'll run prime95 tonight, but what else can i run to stress the video card?

sweet, that's what i was thinking too. gonna try and rma the video card.

ran 5 hours of prime95 with no probs and passed memtest86 with no errors. blarg.
 
What was it that you were you thinking?? I am having the same exact issue and am quite "put out". LOL Please let me know what you found -= I have been tearing up the forums hoping someone else has seen this issue. I was fearing that it was because I was running solely off of a SATA drive. My system is a A64 / DFI UT3 / 1gb Ram / 200 GB SATA WD / 6800 GT

PLEASE Help - this stagger is killing me!
