Agreed, it was on my wishlist for a few months. It was 50% off during winter sale, but I wanted to wait till it was 75% since its an older game.

Vietnam was fun but there aren't much servers for it now. Personally I wouldn't bother. On the other hand, if many buy it that might bring it back to life.

$4,99 isn't much but for the last 2 weeks or so it was €2,50 on Origin in Europe. Now it's €4,99 on Steam as well. Anyway, still better than normal price and worth it for what is still a very nice game.

Atacama Desert was an awesome map. And that snowy mountain one had some great rush points.

I love BC2, moreso than Battlefield 3 and 4. It's probably tied with 2 as my favorite. I just played it last week and there are a few servers still going (more than a few, but only a few that had a decent amount of players, at least for me).

So much fun! I wish BF4 would've had the same level of destructible environments.

BC2 is the best BF single player campaign too. I don't know why they took out the destructible environments. They were so much fun. For $4.99 its worth playing through the SP.

Did they ever fix the weird lag with the knife?
It was quite fun, but been a while since I played it.

Bad Company 2 is second only to BF1942 in the Battlefield series in my opinion. Fantastic game. But 3 years in, I'm guessing the only people playing it are hardcore players who have had all the unlocks for years and know the maps like the backs of their hands... That's not really a fun environment to hop into unprepared. But if there's still people playing, I highly recommend giving it a try; it's an absolute blast.

Knife works as intended, just need to get used to the timing.

The basic kits are good enough although magnum ammo is helpful and takes a little while to unlock. Experience is harder to gain and yes, it will be tough for a while. But even the biggest noob can make himself useful by using q while ads to spot enemies. Sadly they mostly like to camp in the back of the base with a sniper rifle.

The biggest problem with this game though is the lack of a good autobalancer. Many times it will be one team full of max level players vs a team with mostly new guys. Since this game really requires decent teamwork you will get rolled if you're on the team with new guys. And you will roll them when you're on the other team. I find it boring but many players never get tired of a good noobbashing.

I enjoyed it, even though I'd find myself cursing when desperately trying to engage, only to realize that control has been wrested away for yet another cut scene. But it's a very funny game. I still occasionally chuckle recalling "What? I can know things!"

The game rocks! It's just too bad I had to pay $5.09 for it 3 years ago when I should've waited and saved $.10. Well, a fool and his money are soon parted.

I'd highly recommend this game plus the Vietnam expansion. This was hands-down the last good Battlefield game to come out. It's a bit consolized but it's really really balanced and fun.

I have the base game on Origin. I think I got it with the humble bundle deal. Is there a way to get the Vietnam expansion working with Origin or transfer the base game to Steam?

Killing people behind me with the knife is working as intended?:D

Hey, I didn't say it was realistic :p

But afaik there are only 2 real bugs. The first is a wrong level of zoom when aiming down sights at the start of the match (just aim again and it will be back to normal) and the other is a problem with the clan tag where it will say 'invalid' when left blank. So nothing game-breaking.

It's funny how you can see the effects of Steam sales, so many level 1's it feels like beta again.
