Is it worth buying and playing this game if you are a casual player.

I have a busy life with work and all, 12 hr swing shift.
I have a good system to play it just don't want to pay for somthing them find out guilds wont want me and have a hard time getting skilled up because others will be so far ahead of me.

Asked and answered. Any further discussion can go in the main BF4 thread.

if you are looking to play with a clan then just find a casual clan to play with.

Level doesn't really matter, most of the starting guns in this one are pretty good once you get some sights on them. As long as you try your best and Play the Objective I don't think anyone should care if you can only play a few hours a week.

I stopped playing battlefield after bad company 2. Now don't get me wrong, bad company 2 is no battlefield 2, but its a great game and I had a blast playing it. I definitely feel like the route dice and ea took for bf3 and bf4 wasn't in good taste. Its just not as fun.... the combat literally resembles call of duty, and the vehicles just don't feel as epic as they once did. I am done with the battlefield series as a whole, as a matter of fact I am done with fps games as a whole, ill stick with CSGO for my fps fix.

Lol.. the horror. "The guilds wont want me?"

Why do you want to join a random guild of people you don't know anyways? That is no different than playing with random people, except now you have some stupid guild hierarchy to deal with that makes playing the game less fun. Probably some 17 year old running the guild.

Kind of sad, innit?

Only reason I said something about a guild/clan is that when ever i played the beta of any fps the ones in a clan seemed to dominate because they played good together and got more done.

With a few exceptions, I haven't noticed players from guilds dominating any other player. And if you have a few friends who play, you could always just play in the same squad (which are limited to 4-5 players). Sort of a quasi-guild. You can earn points from each other by spawning on each other and a few other ways.

I think that is a stretch. I stopped playing Ghosts a month after it came out (if that) and switched to BF4. Believe me there is nothing similar about the games. Infinity ward is not even infinity ward anymore. Most of their staff have zero experience with the franchise and it shows with the newest iteration of whack-o-mole (kill one and two spawn behind you).

In BF4 I shot at a tank 3-4 times using a Javelin and did not kill it. Only when people on your team actually give a shit about killing the tank or chopper, who make a group effort, would take it down. Just like BC2 which I remember vividly. I also saw a helicopter with 2 engineers on it that was damn near impossible to get down without a squad of stingers. BF should not be a military vehicle simulator. The only thing that is majorly different from BC2 and BF4 is it's much easier to rank up now.

Worrying about a clan or w/e in a non-persistent FPS game? I've never been clanned up in an FPS and I have no desire to ever be.

Play on your own schedule, join random servers. Leave if it's no fun / team stacking is evident. Why worry about a bunch of irrelevant social hierarchy in an FPS?

I might order it now, I bought a new KB last week and the only thing they had in stock that was nice was the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate BF4 edition.

I joined up with a clan that advertised older mature gamers only about 8 months ago and they have been awesome to play with. All of them are professionals with real jobs that like to play for a few hours a week and have fun.

No

Well... I didn't think BF3 was and BF4 looks very similar. Maybe you play more than I do, but I always felt worthless because everybody else knew how to fly or what parts of the map to look for snipers and stuff. Stuff like that just pissed me off and I never enjoyed myself playing the game. I think I've reached a point in my life where I just can't play enough to have fun online anymore.
