We finally have the reason why Battlefield 4 looked so crispy and almost like a CG video. The demo showcased during the official reveal featured 17 minutes of gameplay and the graphics were simply out of this world.
DICEs Patrick Bach has revealed the reason for the visual fidelity. It was apparently running at 3k resolution.
It was a decent PC, yes. But you can still buy it, so its not like alien technology or anything, he said to CVG. Its still a PC that you can buy and its still unoptimised code. Another thing that you might not have realised is that we ran it at 3K resolution at 60fps, and you dont do that. Nobody talked about pixels because at that size you couldnt see them.
That explains why the demo was fantastic. Missed it? Check it out here. The demo was running on dual 7990 AMD GPU.
