Sorry for the capitalization and wall of text, it was a copy/paste job. Looks like Dice is recommending a gtx560 (vanilla) and/or hd6950. This game looks like it is going to favor Nvidia GPU's, whereas Rage looks to favor AMD GPU's (based on the recommended system requiremets), although Rage is significantly less demanding on the recommended GPU.

you know there is an edit button...

the BC 2 requirements still do not mean much until we get some reviews. there are several games that have cards list as recommended that I would barely consider minimum just to play.

and some requirements, such as for Rage, make zero sense. how can id possibly be silly enough to imply 4250 integrated crap is at the same level as an 8800???

Someone asked DICE what performance you could expect out of the recommended specs at 1080P. They said you'll be able to play at medium. I'd take that to mean you'll get about 30-40FPS.

When asked what it would take to run ultra with nvidia hardware, the answer was 580 SLI.

If you want to play this game maxed out, better get yourself a pair or three of 6970s or 580s and/or a 6990. Sounds like it's going to be a beast.

SLI scaling was garbage for me in the alpha, hopefully it scales well in this game. If they can get 90+% scaling I should be able to max it out.

I just have a hard time believing it will be that demanding. I guess its possible that there will be a couple of settings though that just kill anything but a high setup. I sure as hell better look great if more than a gtx580 is needed at 1080.

many people said BC 2 had nice graphics and physics and I thought that game was mediocre looking at best.

The console version runs at less than 720p with scanline interleaving. Its surprising that the console version is so primitive yet the PC version has fairly high system requirements. I'm guessing the PC version is a hurried , botched console port.

That said, I can't wait and will definitely buy it the day it comes out 😎

Actually they are porting it from the PC to the console. 😎

Any substantiation of this? Just curious 😎 Generally, PC only games don't sell well at all compared to console games, and top tier developers (except blizzard, mmo's and valve) must design with consoles in mind or.

Just curious. I'm pretty doubtful it was designed with the PC in mind, but I could be wrong. Either way, the game should be incredible.

Did you see any of the real world multiplayer in-game footage on youtube? It looks good, but nowhere near as good as those screenshots you posted. The foliage and textures in particular are nothing special. Character animations and physics engine are great though.

Youtube compressed videos will never show you the clarity of an actual screenshot.

Also, alpha is what it is. Will the release candidate include an "ULTRA" settings? Yes, apparently so coming from DICE. Whats in the ultra settings? We can speculate, most likely high-res textures for one and increased shadow/lighting complexities.

BC2 looks great and the physics is amazing for how well it ran on all hardware. Don't disregard this aspect.

You are wrong because Frostbite 2 engine is first and foremost a PC game engine featuring all the DX11 features. They have to convert it to dx9 and scale down everything to run on console.

DICE have released many presentations and statements on their game engine and how its geared for the PC, you can look it up yourself.

BC2 was also developed for the PC first then scaled down on the console. It sold over 9M copies, not what you would call bad sales. BF3 so far has higher pre-orders and higher-hype than BC2.

You guys think BF3 pownz Modern Warefare 3 ?

I know the COD series has millions of users. But then I noticed BF3 had millions of users too, as 2 million pre ordered the game. I have a question, is there leaning in BF2 or just strafe. If it has leaning, Im sold... thx

There weren't full graphics options in the alpha. You could only go low or high and select your resolution, it was DX11 though. It looked good on high, not as nice as the first Crysis but better than Crysis 2.

Hopefully the beta will have some more expanded graphics options available.

So the AMD Gaming Evolved program is going to favor NVDA GPUs in BF3 is it?...this should be interesting...😛

I think its favoring AMD. Asking you to buy a more expensive AMD GPU. 😛

Yes the MP Alpha looks nothing like those screenshots. Just like a BC2 but with over contrasty shadows and low polygon environment. Yeah we know its alpha and will get better but those impressive screenshots and footage are PRE-alpha.
