I tried almost everything to fix this problem (downclocking my cards, restoring original clock speed of my cpu, re installing the nvidia drivers w/ the audio,) The only solution I found was to run the game on only on 580. While it still runs pretty smooth on ultra settings @ 41-52 fps, I can really notice the missing boost the second card gave me. (keeping the fps at a steady 62 Is there anyone who has had this problem and has been able to find a solution that doesn't involve turning off SLI?

BF3 is a finnicky game. My Dad, who runs a single card, experiences lock-ups. I run SLI and don't have any issues with the latest two beta drivers. Make sure you try the latest beta drivers from nVidia's website. Additionally, might want to tweak some settings to see if that has an effect.

I think im up to date with the latest beta driver, but I'll check. Every time I have to turn off a card to play a game...... a little part of me dies inside =(

Having the same issues, check out my thread.
http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2209082

Before Patch is was good (also had 8gb of ram). Now I have only 4gb, not sure how that would prevent me to play on Ultra.

But lately it has been fine on High settings. Still though I get 120-130Average and it just tanks to 50-60 randomly.

Doesn't effect me as much as going from 50-60 to 0-10fps.

I will report back when I get my other Ram stick back. I'm skeptical though, I don't see BF3 using more than 4gb (with win7). Heck it never goes over 80% usage.

This game is the buggiest game I have ever played. I have 2 copies on different computers and few of my friends have copies as well. We all have random issues. Heck almost everyone has the "first time join server, crash" issue....amongst many more.

EA really screwed things up with the browser BS IMO. Concept is fine on paper, but sucks in reality. Give ma a normal F'in game for god sakes.

I had a crash or two before the patch, but they seem to be more frequent after the patch. Also, I read the notes for the 2gp patch comming out tomorrow, and it states nothing along the lines of any crash fixes. grrrrrr!!!!!!!!! Strange. I can play for over 8 hours in bug infested skyrim w/ SLI without a crash, but boot up BF3, and I might make it through 1 match. I'll just have to suck it up and play with one card.

Yeah the patch has caused my game to crash significantly more, classic EA releases, they can't get a game to work correctly, they should just start developing games for Macs

EA didn't develop this, DICE did. EA published it

wow already a second patch so soon?

Hope it fixs the server issues sometimes it takes as many as 5 attempts for me to join a server.

Stability after in game is pretty good but i get random hard locks now but my old dual core and radeon 6750 i never got a single lock up...so i believe either its nvidias end or the game is finnicky about settings or drivers...

Edit:Now on a 1100t and gtx570
