Great idea except I WANT to use the joystick when I am flying. I might give up on it though because it's very difficult to master.
That's what I mean. Keep it for flying and erase it from everything else.

thank's for the tip.You have to unlock the scope on the main gun.
If you already unlocked it, make sure you have it in your load out (tab called "land" on the loadout screen). It took me a while to figure out vehicles have load outs in addition to classes.

anyone else have problems mapping gadget 1 to a mouse button? i mapped one of my thumb buttons to gadget 1. if im assualt or support, pressing it correctly switches to the medi/ammo pack and deploys it (and autoswitches back to my weapon which is nice). however, engineer's gadget 1 (rpg) will not select. also noticed that for assault, if i switch to grenage launcher from medipak for gadget 1, it also quits working. highly annoying.
I'm having a problem using a mounted machine gun. The gun wants to keep pointing at the ground. I move my mouse up to shoot and then it just points to the ground again. This also happens when sitting in the back seat of the F-18 in level 3 of the single player campaign.
I think it has something to do with the game thinking I'm using a gamepad and trying to move the crosshairs back to center. Except I don't want it to move if I don't move my mouse. It might be caused by "inverse acceleration" but I don't know if that can be turned off.
Does anyone else have this problem? I don't have a gamepad plugged in. I'm using a CH Flightstick and I've cleared most of the joystick bindings. Maybe I'll clear all of them.
I'm talking about a mounted machine gun on a Hummer or a tripod. IRL, there are no motors pulling the gun down so that shouldn't happen in the game.I experienced this before but the answer is a lot easier than you think. I could be wrong but I think the reason is that the game is trying to be realistic. In an attack helicopter, the guns have a vertical travel limit. Can you guess why? It's not to keep you from shooting other aircraft. It's so you can't accidentally shoot the rotors of the helicopter. I know it feels like you are "fighting" against a force when you try to go vertical or even side to side but I think that's on purpose.
Who? What's so special about it?

if anyone else has this problem, i figured out the issue. while the medi/ammo packs and rpg and smaw are all "gadget 1" items, they have separate bindings. i noticed that the keyboard key "3" was bound to both gadget 1 and underslung item (er something like that. i dont have the game open now). by mapping my mouse's thumb button to both those functions and ignoring the warning about the key already being mapped, i can now successfully use all the gadget 1 items, be it a supply pack or weapon, with the single mouse button.anyone else have problems mapping gadget 1 to a mouse button? i mapped one of my thumb buttons to gadget 1. if im assualt or support, pressing it correctly switches to the medi/ammo pack and deploys it (and autoswitches back to my weapon which is nice). however, engineer's gadget 1 (rpg) will not select. also noticed that for assault, if i switch to grenage launcher from medipak for gadget 1, it also quits working. highly annoying.

I just noticed that over 10 years, I have yet to crack 60 posts. Now that is how you shut up and listen.
When the forum switched over, everyone lost their post history unless you PMed the mods and explicitly asked for it to be restored.
i'm on 8th time trying to log in/ create account. so far i've tried various usernames that said were not in use and another email address i had to make onother one. i even tried leaving all the checkboxes for them to invade my privacy and still wont let me log in.
guess i'm done trying for the night.
Go back to your first created USername and stick with it. Quit making new ones until you figure out what's wrong.
