What I don't understand is why is the 6990 doing so well if SLI and Crossfire aren't working? 6990 should have lower clock than 6970 so if there is no crossfire boost than shouldn't it's score be lower?

Unfortunately, these i7 results give the impression that HT does nothing in gaming, or actually hurts gaming performance because many times we only see the results of the i7's. It's possible that for the i7, 4 cores are enough to handle the workload and adding HT only adds to thread thrashing, reducing performance.
This is exactly the same conclusion I've reached.

Keep HT on with two cores but turn if off with four cores or more, unless you have some specific non-synthetic program that specifically benefits from it.

Sometimes these cards scale with unsupported games but not as well as they should. If that makes any sense .

I keep telling people why buy a 2600K for gaming, it's a waste of money. Why buy a 4C/8T cpu when you have to disable HT for gaming?

Time to put my french lessons to the test.

" Hello, since you guys are very well versed on the subject, I would like to know if my

*I3 555 at 3.7GHZ
*4GB OF RAM
*6790 CROSSFIRE

Do you think I can put Battlefield 3 in MAX on a 1366x768? "

Je vais essayer de traduire le ou les reponse de les autres membres pour toi si il y a des personne qui va repondre. Pardon my french.

I haven't seen a Battlfield 3 minimum system requirements yet, so I won't be able to answer that. However, another forum member might jump in who is more knowledgeable.
