I noticed this strange glitch when using my 7950 for BF3 (just started playing MP today).

Character models seem to have "ropes" or "rays" coming out of them. It's very distracting as these rays cross my screen to wherever my teammates are. Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it? My 680 doesn't seem to do this... but I haven't played this game enough to know for sure. Also, I have both drivers installed on this computer, but I don't believe that would cause a glitch like this.

First step for me would to drop clock speeds to stock and try again. Does it still do it?

If so then I'd try different drivers. If it still does it, verify the card is working stable in other games or you could loop something like Heaven benchmark and see if it has any issues. I assume you already know the card is fine but it's something I mention anyhow.

I suspect your OC is not as stable as you once believed.
Drop to 1050 and check again.

Those look like typical memory artifacts. Either an unstable overclock or your card is on its way out.

Alright, dropped OC, restarted game and it seems better now. Guess that was it. :/

BF3 is good at finding OC issues. There was actually a bug when the game first launched that would cause something similar.

If you wanted to keep your OC, you should bump up your voltage... if it is voltage unlocked.

on my 5850 I thought I had a good OC, every game ran fine..except on mass effect I would get random white dots. They would be few and far between, but then oneday I realize it was my OC. Dropped in 20mhz and no more white dots.

There's a specific windows DX 11 related update present within windows update - to which I don't recall the number of that is known to cause strange issues. If you install it you'll get weird graphical anomalies in bf3 like subtle green lines everywhere. I remember reading about it somewhere, but i've never installed it. It was a fairly recent KB update IIRC.

I'm not sure if this is your issue, but it may warrant investigation.

His went away with a drop of his clocks.. which means his OC was not stable.
