Is Battlefield 2142 any better looking than part 2 or just an update? the required specs are exactly the same so im thinking it's just an update but either way i preordered it cus even though BF2 was buggy as hell it was still fun to play. also how many of you guys are even going to buy it after buggy BF2
 
The graphics are a little better than BF2 because its from the same engine, except heavily modified (I think its *heavily* modified).

No, I will not by 2142. I'm not sure if its going to be the next BF: Vietnam
 
Unless they add co-op play back into the series I will pass. BF2 was a downgrade from BF1942 in everything except graphics.

Well, the Ai sucked so bad in 1942.....
 
the ai still sucks in bf2, thats why i play online only..havnt played in forever, got bored with it..same ol crap, run,shoot,die
 
BF2 has co-op and singleplayer. The AI is adequate for the single player that I played, but clearly not the focus of the game, but that's fine with me considering there's usually 30-35k players at a time online.

Yeah, so forget single player and start the multiplayer fragging!
 
Yeah, the SP was adequate when I had a dead internet connection for parts of a day, or when trying to fly choppers and planes which I still never could get the hang of. But not much point otherwise. Though I did do some training in SP Karkand while I was getting completely owned when I started playing early on. Though I played a lot of 1942 and some DC as well as a bazillion hours into most FPS games online, the skills didn't transfer too well. It was mostly discovering all of the cheap tactics that everyone did. I can hold my own now... my 1st/beginning account is getting good. Which reminds me, I gotta play that some today, and just remove my 2nd account.
 
i know that BF2 they did a piss poor job and it's still beta but it's so damn fun, flying the chopper, in a tank, in a jihad jeep, it's just so damn fun, that's why i preordered 2142 and you dont get Battlefield for it's singleplayer, you get it for the multiplayer. i dont know how many hours i've drained on it but it's too damn fun. o yea, i bought it off of gamestop so i get a promotion and im in the veterans program so i get 2 promotions right when i first start up the game, YAY ME
 
BF2 is still my favorite game, great with a super sound setup (5.1 + X-Fi) and widescreen. However, BF2142 looks a little sh*tty, I expect more graphically given the age we're in now, where its going to be up against games like Crysis and such. It looks marginally better in some areas, and marginally worse in others, than BF2, a game which is nearly 1.5 years old

i know it's not a really good looking game but the maps usually are huge and the fun factor makes up for it
 
they need alot more variety, everyone online does pretty much the same types of things and always people out there that try to ruin the game for others, like killing you just to steal a jet or whatever...i hate missing out on a vehicle and having to run for 30 minutes to get to the battle area lol
