Producer Dan Blackstone of Digital Illusions CE has hinted at the imminent announcement of "something very big" in an interview with Shacknews, which GameSpot presumes is most likely Battlefield 2142, a most futuristic sequel.

Suppose to come out Fall '06

If its true...I'm looking forward to it. Though I dunno...seems a bit early to bringing out another game.

EDIT: Seems its official. They posted a community update on the BF2 website saying this game is going to be released in autum. Seems very early but I wont complain much, after all it does look to be an interesting game.

if the video is anything like what the actual gameplay is going to be...then id jump on this...but most likely its just a presentation video of some sort...cuz the graphics seem way too nice...here's to hopin though...

I'm normally a futurist(Tribes FTW!), but I have no interest in BF2142. There's just nothing about it that's really going to be new(not that there was a whole lot new with BF2), nor do I see any reason why it will do anything better than BF2 currently does. It's like BFV, really.

Yeah... an objective game mode like Assault for UT2004 would be alot of fun.
