Battlefield 2142 1.4 patch issue (cannot find install file)

Allrighty, so I recently reinstalled BF2142 and updated to 1.25 without any problems, but the 1.4 patch simply will not function. It keeps telling me that it cannot find the BF2142 install folder. I went through the steps listed on the Battlefield support site (check registry entry, reinstall and re-update) and it still refuses to work after redownloading the update as well.

any ideas?

Did you have to update to 1.25 before 1.4? I recently had to reinstall Battlefield 2142 just to apply the 1.4 patch since I hadn't played for 9 months and lost my registry entries after installing a new OS. IIRC, I patched directly to 1.4. You can try uninstalling, deleting the registry entry, installing, then patching to 1.4 directly (if I'm not mistaken).

gahh finally got it working.

apparently the download from the EA FTP isn't working. the Fileshack version however worked.

gogo gadget EA. As much as you'd expect a company as large as EA to have its **** together, it really doesn't take long to disappoint.
