Sometimes I play for 5 seconds and get disconnected, other times I play for 10 minutes and then get disconnected. Someone recommended that I reset my modem, and I did so to no avail. Any ideas? This only happens to me in BF2 and is getting frusterating.

Thanks :)

Is your CPU a dual processor? Open up task manager, go to the Processes tab, right click over BF2 and click, "Set Affinity" and uncheck CPU 1. Press OK. You will have to do this every time you play BF2 if this is the problem.

This issue has nothing to do with cpu. Check your pings on the servers you play on, and let us know how many players on are each server.

64 player servers?
Settings?
Pings on server?
Any programs running in the backround?

Do a search, many people with dual core processors use this method to play BF2 because of disconnection issues. It has nothing to do with low pings, I had the same problem and was disconnected from every server I tried playing on until I unchecked CPU 1 in Set Affinity. This fix was posted on another messageboard and has helped other people with dual core processors. BF2 has issues with dual cores, some people have different issues with it, this is one possible way to fix the disconnection issue.
