- Helicopter now carry 8 missiles rather than 14
- TV-Guided missile now have a shorter range
- Hit points on all air vehicles has been reduced
- AA missile lock has been improved
- Support kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- Sniper kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- Anti-Tank kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- "Dolphin Diving" is no longer possible
- Players can no longer jump and shoot at the same time
- "Prone Spamming" is now fixed
- "Sprint exploit" is now fixed
- The Sa80 weapon has been improved
- The G3A3 weapon has been improved
- Reload while sprinting has been enabled
- Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials
- Damage decreased for the M134
- Medic defibrillator paddles have been adjusted. They now reload while not in use.

Attack chopper now = a deathwish? I will try to hold my comments until the patch is actually out, but that really does not read well. I could understand shortening the guide missile range but also lowering the hit points on the vehicle built out of toilet paper doesn't make sense.

Yeah those kind of made me cringe as well...hopefully it wont be that bad because I am a huge fan of the attack chopper....

I do think the tanks should be able to take them out with one shell though...

Looks like I'll be playing again!

The only thing now though that would stop me is the fact that the game's been out long enough for the hackers out there to decode the packets and figure out how to make map hacks and what-not like thye did for BF1942. Anyone know anything about this?

IT's an instant game breaker for me

Hahaha, you're kidding right? That was pretty funny. Good joke.

You're not kidding? Toilet paper? Pretty amusing that one of these toilet paper helicopters can take a 155mm tank round up the tailpipe and fly away with a little smoke coming off. Or that you can pour ground fire from a 7.62 mm machine gun into it and all you'll do is alert the pilot that he needs to yaw 90 degrees and kill you. Do you know any real helicopter pilots? Do you know any that would feel comfortable maintaining a hover while ground troops pour fire into the bird?

No? Neither do I. These things have been ridiculously overpowered in this game from the beginning. Massive nerfage is massively justified.

I was also pretty unhappy with the old (current) armor of the choppers. I mainly play a grunt though I am adept in the choppers. I thought it was crazy how they could take a shell from a tank and continue on their way with minor damage.

I think this will be a good patch as the air vehicles really were unbalanced, having said that I hope they don't wimp out the jets/choppers *that* much as I do enjoy flying them :)

The mini gun getting nerfed a bit on the allied chopper is a good idea though, as the axis guns were SOOO crappy compared to it. Overall I think this will make the game a little more entertaining for all.

What exactly is dolphin diving and prone spamming? I've not played in some time, but have been thinking of hopping back in at some point.

Dolphin diving = while in a firefight, your opponent jumps up and then goes straight into a prone position, and he repeats this non-stop.

I'm not sure on prone spamming? i'm guess it is just when people just keep going prone/standing repeatedly. Dolphin diving is really the only one I encounter along with just regular bunny hopping.

Neither really bother me. In fact I love taking out the dolphin divers on a regular basis. It just makes for a more entertaining target.

dolphin diving is when you jump, go prone, jump, go prone, jump, go prone.....


I'm not sure what prone spamming is.

I think the best change hinted at in this patch is the removal of the ability to shoot when bunny hopping. Man, those guys piss me off. It's not that they have some kind of l33t skill; anyone can do it. It's just incredibly lame.

The only thing I would have liked to see added is that jumping saps endurance.

im wondering if "adjusted for accuracy" on the sniper kit means more like real life? maby theres "wind" now and maby we have to "hold our breath" or take tranqlizers metal gear style. honestly im really hoping they make it so i can actually kill someone now. im sick of having my crosshairs over someones head and firing only to have NOTHING happen. then they can just run around while i unload a clip at them then on my second clip i finally get enough body shots to kill em :disgust:

Maybe it'll fix my "CD/DVD Emulation Software error" I haven't been able to play the game for a few weeks now. I can't figure out a way to play my RETAIL copy.

Questions form a newb. What is are dolphin diving and prone spawning?

wow, i think i might actually start playing the game after this patch. Its hard to believe the devs didnt think of these when they were first making the game.

It does seem too good to be true. The only negative appears to be adding reload while sprinting which doesn't make sense if the intent is now to "de-spazzify" the game. Isn't it bad enough that they run all the time (and can reload while doing so) and then can "super-run"?

Also, while the corrections to jumping and prone exploits are great news, there is no mention of limiting the frequency of jumping to counter exploiting sequential running jumps to avoid being shot which just destroys any sense of immersion.

Useable support kits may increase team work and reduce Rambozo-ing somewhat. I sure hope the primary weapons in general are finally corrected. As it is, the pistol is more accurate at medium range than most of the primaries. It's really queer how many of them can kill at long range with a few single-round bursts but in close quarters most of a magazine is required even when most bullets are registering hits.

I never really understood the reasoning behind dumbing down damage while keeping authentic magazine capacities either so that constant swapping is necessary. Perhaps the reload while sprinting offsets that sillyness in a very small way. But really, to increase the fun factor the damage should be increased or at least cause wounding. Anything to favour pitched battles from covered positions (as opposed to just running at each with the trigger held down like idjits) is good in my book . Of course, lack of "peeking" really limits that. At the mo' infantry combat and especially the primary weapons are just not satisfying like they were in good ol' Rogue Spear and such.

It's so sad that helo's still require balancing as they have continued to be better than flying tanks. But at the same time the lack of agility is really awful which seems contrary but if vulnerability was increased at the same time as agility was likewise then it would all balance out and be more fun. As it is, I don't bother with 'em much as they are slow and boring. I still think the current controls should be made a "beginner" option while also adding more Desert Combat -esque controls for "advanced" players (i.e. remove the auto-hover training wheels but increase the ability, nay necessity, for pilot control). Now, don't chime in with "but auto-hover is realistic", because this isn't about realism but fun! If it was about realism then helo's would killing from 4 km beyond the map boundries without being seen or heard.

Dolphin diving is prolly referring to a jump followed by prone while prone spamming is a related exploit via control scripting which causes the player to almost hover in the prone position while greatly reducing the chance of being shot.
