BattleField 2 - update 1.41

I just reinstalled BF2, and then installed the 1.41 patch found here:
http://www.ea.com/official/battlefield/battlefield2/us/editorial.jsp******=communityupdate_111606

But log on times are really sluggy and I keep getting booted from every server I try. Any ideas?

You keep getting booted, but what's the message?

I find that 1.41 did absolutely nothing. It fixed nothing noticeable. They still have glaring problems to fix in this game and i tlooks like they will just ignore them so I'm continuing to ignore bf2142 and anything else they release

Logon times have been slow as hell for a long time now. It always seems to take the game 30-45 seconds to contact the account server and log me in. But I haven't seen any consistent issue with getting booted from servers while running 1.41.

Looks like its 'ok'. 'ok' as in operating.
I had to try about a dozen times, all with freezing and manual power-down. Can't be good for my PC. Eventualy it let me in and online to the servers.

I thought there was some sort of cache files you could delete to speed up the logon time? I thought I did that once before after someone suggested it and it helped a lot. But then as expected got slower, but I don't remember what I had to do anymore. Or I'm just imagining that.
