I keep getting a notice warning from windows that stating that my virtual memory is too low. i htink this could be because of battle field two. Today i got a blue screen, and my computer restarted instantly, while playing Battlefield 2 demo. does anyone know how i can prevent this from happening, please?

Increase either your physical RAM or boost the size of your page file, the two components of virtual memory. For physical RAM, add in another stick to the motherboard or replace a stick of lesser capacity if there's no more empty slots. The page file can be increased by going into System Properties (right click My Computer, Properties), Advanced Tab, Performance->Settings, Advanced tab, Virtual memory->Change. Select a drive and increase the size (choose Custom size first if needed). Don't forget to press Set.

I haven't played BF2, but from what I've heard, you need a LOT of RAM to make it run happily. Consider upgrading to 2 GB. There are some good deals on RAM in the Hot Deals forum at the moment.

Thanks, by the way are there any possible settings in BF2 i should turn down, to help lower the amount of Virutal memory (VM) it takes up?

By the i set my VM from 760/1536 to 920/2000 , is that good enough?

Yeah, in BF2 video options there is a setting for "Texture" quality. Set it to "Medium" or "Low". "High" is for no less than 2GB of RAM and uses lots of memory and Page File.

Precisely. If you need an excuse to get another gig of RAM, BF2/texture=high is it.

Page file? Probably, yes. Do either that or the above (maybe both if the error persists).

I'd let Windows manage your pagefile. 1GB is adequate for BF2, and even moreso if you turn down some options. Check out the Tweakguides.net BF2 guide. They have screenshots of LOW/MED/HI comparisons, so you'll be able to turn down the options that really increase the RAM usage but hardly any graphical difference (like Texture). I think bob4432's sig has a link to a little bit of RAM usage testing he did, might want to check out that too.
