Every game has its set of whiners.
There certainly are some issues to gripe about in BF2 that are due to bugs or poor design but the whining about spawn camping isn't one of them. It's about war guys. Those spawn points around the flags are just that...around the flags. You don't like getting shot then don't spawn there. Pretty simple. It does get old seeing the tanks and apc's constantly getting used by the same folks to do just that but it's part of the game.
As for the accuracy and such while jumping all over the place. I wouldn't mind seeing that addressed but I don't think it will. The developers said before the game was released that they were not striving for realism but a more arcadelike feel. If it was real, everyone would probably be complaining about it.
Frankly I get more annoyed by the teamkilling penalties and that's not due to the game but by the dumb@sses that play it. Yesterday someone felt that they constantly had to follow my tank and then run around to step in front of it to get killed so that they could punish me for teamkilling. Same person everytime. Also you get the instances where you see the enemy come around the corner and you shoot a grenade at them but it kills not only him but one of your teammates that just spawned there. Just wait for it and you'll see it...instant punish. There is no trust that you might have gotten hit by accident for the benefit of the team. Instead it's your guilty for being a moron.
The number one bug though is undoubtedly the team color labelling being wrong. Blue is supposed to be your team and red the enemy. Many times this can get screwed up so you think you're shooting the other team but it turns out to be your own teammate or you see someone you think is on your team but they are really on the other. Very screwed up.
I play almost nightly for a few hours and this bug shows up probably a couple times a week. It's been there in every patch but I've noticed it the worst in the first release and the 1.03(most recent) patch.
Back on topic though I'm glad I got in on the $19 price. Apparently these are more city-like maps which are the most fun in BF2. Karkand and Sharqi in particular are the best. As for non-city I think Dragon Valley and Dalian Plant are the only ones halfway fun.
