I was reading on here either last week or the week before and I read that a lot of people were having problems with the new patch for BF2. Thus, I have put off downloading it. Have they addressed the problems and fixed the patch or is it still really messed up?

Just trying to decide on whether to download now and take the chance or wait?

Sure it has a few problems, but not as many as before IMO. My friends and I had no issues when we lanned last week.

my incremental install did not work... I was forced to uninstall and that opened up a whole new can of worms....

needless to say, after a cd2 disc replacement, i was able to reinstall and apply the patch. I haven't noticed any buggs yet, and I barely saw the new commander "request jeep" last night. pretty cool.
 
This sucks ive been playing BF2 for about a week with the new patch which i did incremental(stupid me). And just yesterday the game crapped out on me, it wont let me apply AA whatsoever, ive on app controlled in Nvidia cp, and applied to 4xAA in game. But everytime i start a game, there is no AA at all, then i go back to options and what was just set to 4xAA is now set to off!!! Ive tried everything without having to uninstall BF2, AA is disabling itself to off no matter what i do. Im not sure what caused such a sudden change after playing it for about a week, then all of a sudden stop applying AA but wtv......I dont think im going to uninstall and patch, ill just wait for the next patch. Dice must be crazy if they think im going to manually install all 3 CD's and dl their huge freaking mb patch.
 
Well i just recently recieved my copy of the Deluxe edition and it comes updated to 1.3. I have had no problems with it, unless its something wrong with the incremental.
 
I have Bf2 and all the expansions/boosters and always use the full patch, not the incrementals.

I haven't had TOO much of a problem with the new patch. Although the first day I downloaded Armored Fury I had a decent amount of trouble. It appeared that the problems I was having (lockups, crashes) were either based on a specific server, or were fixed pretty quickly. Because as soon as I tried another server I had no problems whatsoever.
