Battlefield 2 problem

I just recently changed a few files in order to reduce lag in bf2. I followed this guide: http://bf2lag.com/top5tips.html
Well anyway now servers ask me to revert to the original version of the game, is there any way to revert to defaults quickly without phizically undoing all these steps?

You change files on a game that checks to see if you changed files and expect it to work?

I know many people who have tried the renaming BF2.exe trick and gotten the same error. Change it back.

The rest shouldn't/won't affect it.

Occasionally, all you need to do is restart the game. Sometimes it happens when you're switching from Special Forces to vanilla. Just strange that way.

Most people experience it only on one or two maps. If you can get your hands on a copy of the folder for that map (say, from another computer), you can copy those over. (I had Wake Island get corrupted once, same error)

Failing that, you can always download the full install of the latest patch and apply it to fix most of the problems.
