it has also been DELAYED

Due to some last minute changes the release of the 1.4 patch has been delayed.

We do not anticipate this delay being a lengthy one, however we do not have a fixed date for release at this time.

We will update you as soon as there is further information.

Apologies to those who were expecting the patch today, however in order for this patch to succeed in the way it is intended a little extra time is being taken to ensure it is right.

Glad for the bot changes for Multiplayer.

I hate the fact that the rockets on the helicopter sucks rear. Shouldnt take 8 rockets to blow up a tank.

Allow antitank infantry to spawn with a stinger (like in DC) and then we can talk. Until then I am sure you guys will be blowing up the destroyable fixed position stinger sites.

Air support is so ridiculously overpowered. Moreso jets than choppers though. The little people on the ground need a way to fight back. Stronger fixed air defense and a stinger would be a good start.

There is no mention of AMD dual-core support. I have to disable one core so I don't get the "Lost Connection..." crap

I can't say I've ever had that problem.

Then again, I keep my AMD CPU 'drivers' up to date.

Most of it sounds good. Hopefully it comes out soon. I was getting pissed with the constant crashes.

But yeah they REALLY need to give infantry a way to take down air support. Jets and choppers are lame as hell. As said in other threads, if theres a good pilot, as of now there is pretty much nothing you can do but run away and take cover. Firing from a deployable site and either you can never hit them or it takes too many hits and they kill you before you can fire off enough. And I mostly play SF/low vehicle and air maps, but even in ones like Ghost Town, the constant spawning of choppers is annoying as hell. There's NOTHING you can do. If they are flying low and slow, tank shots are good, but its so rare to get a tank with the vehicle whores. I've tried antitank (which isnt even very good against tanks) but it takes an extremely lucky shot to hit a moving chopper, and if you do they'll just fly away to repair. There's just no effective way to take them down.

They actually still support that game? Looks like it's going double-lifer for its product support length on this one!

Thanks, EA!

If they truely fixed the red name bug and increased server stability, then they have my sincere thanks and can probably stop work on the game completely. Those were the only 2 overwhelming issues in my eyes.

That's why you need a gunner and use the guided missiles.

Free-firing rockets in helos would rarely dent heavily armored tanks, hence why you need to hit them with full salvos. :)

Fixed issue with players crashing while clicking "Join Game" in the front end

TALK ABOUT FVCKING TIME !!! This was probably the most annoying part of the long loading of the game...finally find a server you want...go and join it...and boom...crash to the desktop...

That and the random dropped coonections when you have a ping of 20...that is even more frustrating with this POS game...never in my life have I come across such a fun game that had some many problems

If you can't take down a chopper, you suck, end of story. I'm sick of explaining it to people, but maybe I'll try once more.

There are two guys in the attack chopper(I'm going to ignore the solo-copter guys)working as a team to make that chopper effective.

Two guys on the ground, working as a team, can effectively take down a copter without too much hassle.

If you want to be Rambo and take down a copter by yourself, it is a little more difficult, but still doable. My advice is play as AT and park a vehicle with a mounted machine gun somewhere near your aa site. From there on out, I think you can figure it out.

Jets, well jets are a different story. The only thing that takes down a good jet pilot is another good jet pilot.

As somebody who really likes the copters in the game, I'm somewhat dismayed when they beef up anti-air in an effort to curb the jets... and then lay a couple nerfs on the copters at the same time.

I agree completely eastvillager

If you can't take down a chopper, you suck :p

Jets, especially the J-10, however, can only be killed by other jets.

option for no vehicles? that would be nice for maps like karkand and sharqi if anyone uses the feature.

although, i think its way too late for me to try to get back into. the game's reputation is severely soiled in my eyes.

 most of these bugs (ie redtag bug) should have been fixed in the first patch a year ago or should have never passed QA testing for patches

About fricking time.

But is it going to be faster loading?.. that's the million dollar question.
Why can games such as UT2K4 have a server browser that loads really fast and then BF2 take like a few minutes to load.. and if you want to refresh, well you have to load it all over again.
