my buddy has been playing BF2 on my computer (6800gt - 1GB RAM - 3.2 GHZ P4) and naturally has fallen in love with the game. He wants to get his own copy of the game but is wondering how well it will run on his computer. I didn't want to tell him to get the game and have it run crappy without consulting the experts at anandtech. here are his specs.....

2.0 GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon
512 MB RAM

Just lemme know what you think

I play with a 1800 xp, 5600 ultra and 512mb. I got every thing on low and 800x600. It's not great but I think it's playable. I dont know how that Mobil Radeon compares to the 5600.

I dont have one of our work laptops near me right now but the mobility radeon is generally ATI's business line graphics chip. This has some great 2d but can be limited for gaming. I would think youd be able to use the lower settings mentioned above. If however your friend has a mobility radeon T2 then thats a much better graphics chip and he should game really nicely - thats whats on my IBM T42p.... what laptop model does he have and maybe I can help figure it out

I play with a 2.0ghz Pentium M and a 6800 Go 256mb at some crazy widescreen res like 1600x1024 or something. Most things on medium or high... Looks good. I probably going to drop another gig of ram as 1 is not cutting it in BF2.

We need to know what kinda of Radeon its got. They can put good ones or crappy ones in laptops.

Also is it a pentium M or a pentium 4???

512MB is kinda weak but it might be okay with some settings turned down.

Depending on the Radeon, he'll see varying degrees of low to medium performance. He should strongly consider doubling his RAM, too.
