battlefield 2 mods question

where can i find a good mod for battlefield 2 ?are there any new maps i can download ? if someone creates a mod can it be played online against people ?
 
There aren't alot of big mods that have been released yet for BF2. There are quite a few that are getting close to release.

Check out Rising Conflicts for one.

Also check some of the big fan sites, they always post news of upcoming mods.

Also to play a nod online the server must be running the mod and al lthe clinets must have the mod installed in order to connect.
 
Are there any mods (or maps) with a lot of air to air combat or anything? Like 6 jets or helos for each team, or lots of tanks?
