Battlefield 2 Menu Won't Load

Whenever I try to start up the game the menu wont load it just stays at a black screen. There's music in the background and I was able to watch the intro movie but the menu wont load. I have a radeon 9250 and 1 gig ram and the patch is already installed. What could be the problem?

try updating your radeon drivers, and direct x drivers

Does it usually work?

Try deleting your profile in the My Documents folder, letting the game recreate it on load. (back it up if you have configs to save).

Is your firewall preventing the game from connecting to the account server?

just got bf2 today and mine locks up the whole machine when i click single player or multiplayer
already have latest driver and direct x, all xp hotfixes on high end machine...what a pos this game is

It can be twitchy but it's also really pushing the high end. For most people it works fine. Maybe try searching the TotalBF2 forums or the EA forums.
