Battlefield 2 : Keyboard not responding

I keep have a problem with the keyboard being completle unresponsive during BF2. The batteries are fully charged and the keyboard works outside of BF2. Disconnecting the USB cord and plugging in an old dell keyboard doesn't fix the problem. Anyone else having similar problems? It happens infrequently enough that I can't figure it out, but often enough that its driving me crazy.
