I was playing Karkand today and some asshat kept dropping supply crates. Hundreds of them. Has anyone else seen this? It's the second time I've encountered it. I was hoping there would be one game that people on the internet would fsck up, but I guess I'm wrong.

I don't know why, but it pisses me off for some reason.

I think that's a server problem. Under certain circumstances, when a player enters Commander mode, he has the ability to drop the infinite supply crates or vehicles. The server has to be restarted to solve the problem. It happened to me once and I don't use cheats.

what the hell, i've never seen this problem. lol, actually, it sounds very amusing. if they didn't fix this, this is a bummer, since wasn't 1.41 supposedly the last patch to be released for bf2?

It still happens occasionally. Sometimes it is the server and it it needs a reboot. From the times I have seen it, it is one of 2 things: 1- A hack 2- The server owner has set it that way.

I was on a server that the arty could fire about every 30 seconds. 2 Admins and the owner were on and said it was set that way. I went "Commander" and could do it too.

On ranked servers:

If it still works like it used to, it's a third party program.

The way Battlefield works is that it keeps all the artillery, supply box, UAV, etc timers client side. (read: Well done DICE, well done  )

This program resets all these timers so that it appears they're fully charged again instantly. The *REAL* kicker here is that you DON'T have to be the commander to use the commander tools so you'll never know who is actually using the hack.

The odd thing is that it works with the vehicle drop. Thus, the socalled Battlefield 2 Cartillery

The Battlefield 2 Cartillery has only happened to me once on Karkand about a month ago; it ended up crashing the entire server after 5 minutes or so.

I hack on bf2, its part of a hack. Its called commander hack and you can have unlimited supply crates, if you are the actual commader you can also do unlimited artillery. You can also kick the real commander.
