I been playing Battlefield 2 Demo for 2 weeks now with no problems.

For 2 days now I have a problem, I run the game, connect to a server and when the loading is complete I enter the game and after 5 seconds the game drops me and I get "Your connection to the server has been lost" message, I get this message for every server I try to join.

I did Punkbuster pbweb.exe in the pb folder to manually update PB, it went successful.

I tried reinstalling the demo, scanning for viruses and spyware, disabling windows firewall, running the demo without any other program like xfire or vent.

I am connected directly to the internet without a router using a USB cable modem.

My computer specs are WinXP SP2, P4 2.8Ghz, 1.5GB RAM, 6800GT, 480W PSU

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem with the demo and I figured out it was my Kerio firewall blocking it. What kind of port blocking do you have on your router? You said you disabled XP firewall so that's the only thing I can think it would be.
