"Battlefield 2 Delayed!
6:32 PM | Jan 25 2005 | Rico | 130 Comments
Our worst fears have been realized, it has been announced by EA that Battlefield 2 has been delayed! The release is now in the first quarter of EA's fiscal 2006. In normal calendar terms, this means between April and June of 2005. This could mean a delay of only a week, or up to 3 months!"

Well, that explains those men in military fatigues displaying an EA badge who just took over my town... bastards

Let's just hope the game is relatively bug free, unlike Battlefield: Vietnam. As much as a love that game, it pisses me off that they released such a buggy game.... I'm not a beta tester EA!!!!

Yeah it's a good thing if it's delayed for that reason.

EA's past actions suggest that they do NOT delay releases for that reason. Instead, they just release them as is and expect the customers to put up with the bugs until they've released at least 5 patches in the first 6 months.

More than likely it's being delayed for reasons having to do with EAs quarterly profit reports.

If this is really a choice made by DICE, to make improvements to gameplay and bugs....it doesnt bother me in the slightest. Infact, I appluad them for it. Too many buggy games make it out to the market.

True. And that's if they release any patches. And they have their "community support" where customers are supposed to help customers. It's brilliant!

It's sad that everyone obviously expects a delay on a major game like this (it's had the same relase date for too long), but even when it's finally announced, we (and I) still get pissed. Sucks.
