Purchased BF2 Complete Collection from the EA store and did the direct download.
Game installed and plays fine.

But i can find ZERO info on how to burn the downloaded files to disc so it acts like a retail copy. (or maybe im not searching using the right keywords)

I'd like to be able to burn it to disc , so if i need to re-install later, i dont have to download it again.

I always install BF2 via an ISO and then use the key I got from the actual game to install. Then I use a mini-image to play. Is it not a hassle to have a disc?

actually, the game files download to a folder (can't remember the name) but you can reinstall from there, so i assume you could burn it from there as well (at least i could with crysis).

the folder isn't named something obvious so it can be a bit difficult to find.

it might be under programdata or something like that.

Thats what i was thinking, i'll just vurn the downloaded contents to disc.
Then i can just re-install using the setup.exe when needed.

Was just kinda hoping i could burn it so it acted lie a retail copy.
Oh well, no big deal.

Whoa, you made a mistake there brah. Far as I know, EA's shoddy download service provides no official means of backing up your games, and on top of that they charge you extra money if you want to re-download any purchased game more than six months after buying it. You can pay them a few bucks and they'll let you download it as many times as you want... for the next two years.

This is as opposed to Steam, which gives everyone the ability to re-download all their games as many times as they want, forever. If you can figure out a way of backing up your game successfully, do it, and use this as a lesson to never buy from EA's online store again.

I thought EA realized their download service sucked so much ass, they were losing revenue by not jumping on board with steam, which they finally did about 1?2?3? months ago?

I didn't know they still used it! D:

Yeah, i saw i could opt to pay extra to be able to download it again a for a few years.
And figured, why bother, i'll just burn it disc so theres no need to donload again, after all i did "buy it".

As im sure you've figured out by now, this was my first EA Store purchase and definately my last.

Burning the games install folder is easy enough, im just not 100% posative that it will re-install correctly as i read something to the effect of the game had to re-installed from the original downloaded location. (or something like that)
Which obviously will be difficult after a re-format.
As a precaution i'll keep the entire download directory intact andburn its as a data disc, then hopefully copy and pasting it back to the original HDD "download path/ directory" will allow a re-install.
