Battlefield 2 Choppers

is it just me or the choppers in bf2 have to much armor?

Well, guns aren't going to be very effective against choppers.

You're not wrong, but even though they are equipped with some heavy armor, they cannot maneuver around very quickly, which makes them prone to guided missles.

The blackhawk can be a bit much on maps like Mashtuur city. Get a couple engineers in the back+medic+support and it's a frickin' black angel of death.

PWAHAHAHAHA hell yea it's sweet to fill up a blackhawk, have assault to launch their grenade launchers, engineers, then on the miniguns and you pwn the whole map, it's fun but yea it's takes a couple of guided missle shots to bring them down which i dont like and i wish they had damage like if you shot a chopper on the rudder it's spin out of control but i guess you cant have everything

Squad leader as a pilot. (so they can spawn in the chopper)
Medic in gunner spot one
Support in gunner spot two
One (or two) engies in the back
Everybody else is assault or anti-tank.

Now factor in that a BH can take a direct hit from a tank and live to tell about it. Up to five direct hits if there are engineers aboard. (more than enough time to get away)

40+kills every round. Guaranteed

Yep, what really bothers me is that I had a Blackhawk land directly behind a Chinese APC I was driving on the Dragon Valley map. The pilot was facing right at me and I unloaded the APC canon and missle right into his face and he didn't die right then. He was able to fly away a little ways before my canon fire took him down.

I just thought it extremely odd that I could fire an APC canon at point-blank range at the Blackhawk cockpit and the pilot lived.

Yeah the Blackhawk is a bit unbalanced, but it's pretty wicked in the above-mentioned setup or this one:

Pilot - Squad Leader
Gun1 - Medic
Gun2 - Engineer
1 Support
Rest Assaults

Rain down hell with those grenades and miniguns. >

thats def rather odd. im a sniper almost all the time in that game and ive sniped helicopter pilots maybe 4-5 total. i think thats a lot considering how hard it is getting a kill like that. i used the m95 sniper and aimed for the head and the bullet went right through the glass and killed the pilot so im surprised to see that even through you fired through an APC, it still didn't kill the pilot.

on a side note:i think they def need to tone down the armor for the blackhawks to make the game a bit more even.

i dont know the gun names, but is that the upgraded sniper gun?

my pilot was sniped straight out of the cockpit while we were hovering over a flag. that was a first and supposely the upgraded sniper rifle can do that.

The unlocked sniper is the M95. The M95 can shoot through helicopter glass.

That setup wouldn't work because engineers have to have the wrench out to fix the blackhawk.

And, if you have AT guys, you can put some hurt on tanks.

case in point: I was in a tank and a blackhawk was flying overhead. I shot 3 count um 3 tank shots direct into it and it didnt go down at all I was like wtf but I know other times when it must have been almost blown up, I shot a tank shot right into it and killed all 6 in the blackhawk at once, that was sweet, and yes i would want some naval battles also like being in the SUB damn that SUB was SAWEEEEEEEEET

choppers are ghey. they shouldn't be able to cap flags. that's why i never played the DC mod because the stupid choppers had battleship armor.
