I have a legally purchased, retail copy of Battlefield 2. I have been playing it with no problems. I updated it last night with the latest patch. Now it says to disable CD/DVD emulation software. I did. Clone CD is not running emulated (or at all). Same goes with Alcohol 120% and Nero. To make sure, I even tried using Anti_Blaxx and SR7.Stop. No help. What gives? I want to play my game.

To clarify, the retail CD is in the DVD drive. There are no images or mounting here. No cracks, not cheats.

I will download it when I get home tonight. Why would I need Daemon Tools though? Again, I am not working with images here.

Humor me ;)

You're sure you've disabled all the emulation options in CCD, A120%, etc though?

Didn't miss a service somewhere?

Yes I am sure. And I just downloaded the file and looked inside. I see why you need Daemon now. That's really unfortunate that the only way to play my game is to use a mini image.

I sure did ShadowBlade. I have no virtual drives as far as I can tell. Is there a tool that can tell me for sure?

i use the mini img, anti-blaxx and daemon tools. but i have to stop and restart anti-blaxx each time i start the game, which is no biggie, otherwise it will work the first time and each subsequent time it says "cd emulation blah blah blah".

JAG - Well I figured as much. No virtual drives aka no drives I cannot account for.

I've never even heard of anti-blaxx

maybe deamon tools 4 takes care of the protection that "knows" of 3.xxxx

Not having any luck. Installed Daemon Tools 4, enabled all options, mounted the image in the zip. Left original CD in dvd-rom. Double clicked BF2 icon and I get the same error. I tried removing the physical disc and that didn't really help. What's am I doing wrong here?

I use the DT4 and the BF2:Special Forces image and things run great for me.

Before I had SF, I upgraded to 1.2 and my older BF2 MiniImage worked fine too.. even with an older version of Daemon Tools.

Although, when I had Alchohol installed on my system, it was not happy.

Here is how I got it to work finally after trying Daemon Tools, AntiBlaxx, and SR7.Stop - I uninstalled Clone CD. What a load of crock.

daemon tools 4 fixed any issues with having to use anti-blaxx for me, even the sf expansion pack

Sorry, I don't understand what you are saying. Which mini image did you use? I have two to choose from, one from one of the users here and another I downloaded. Both don't work. Do you use daemon tools 4 AND anti-blaxx? What settings do you use in DT? I don't see why I need to use a mini image. I have the legit game in my drive!

if you hav the legit game, the only thing i could suggest is to reinstall it and take out any emulation software you have running. i just use the mini-image because i only have 1 optical drive. these new copy protections are really starting to f*ck up legit buyers, which is not too cool of them...

I had to get a Special Forces mini image when I bought SF since the old -skl one didn't work. The SF image works for regular BF2 and SF. I simply unisntalled Daemon 3.47, installed newest Daemon 4.whathaveyou, then used the SF mini image, and no problems since.
