battlefield 2 1.21 patch

anybody having issues with it? i just d/led it and installed it, and now i can't even load BF2, the splash screen pops up and disappears within a second or two, then it looks like it's ready to load the actual game as the screen turns black, but it only does it for about 3-4 seconds and then it returns to desktop. no error message or anything. i haven't rebooted my computer after the installation but i wasnt asked to do so nor have i ever needed to do that in the past. is anybody having similar experience?

I honestly think you DO have to reboot, but I could be wrong.
I know I've had problems like that before, and upon rebooting issues clear up. Stupid BF2 and it's dumb glitches...

thanks, i will try that later, i'm currently doing something on the computer and dont want to interrupt the task by rebooting. and yes, i honestly dont think this patch will do much for fixing bugs. they said they addressed the red/blue tag, but the same day i played on the new patch i already saw that bug again. and in this patch they dont address about having fixed it. i can't believe they're having that bug, i haven't seen any other games with that problem.
