I read the system requirements and it says you need a hardware T&L engine. OMFG! Out of all the things my card doesn't have, this has to be one of them! I'm not getting rid of my Kyro II, this things owns! I've spent so much money on cooling and so much time overclocking it! Someone please say this game will work, I wanna get this and get Road to Rome when it comes out!

How much exactly is "so much money" for cooling that Kyro of yours?

Around $50-$60. If I had a digital camera I'd take some pics, it looks really cool.

no offence, but that sounds like it was a big waste of time and money.

How wrong you are!

A) It was fun
B) I like overclocking
C) It benches like a GF3

Mebbe I'll make a secondary rig using it and upgrade to a 9500pro or something

Well, I score around 4000+ in 3dmark, which is near a Ti200, and considering a don't have a T&L engine and can't complete a few tests, thats quite good. Comparing to similar systems in games, I'm about even (mebbe a bit lower) than a Ti200.

my old Geforce3 (which i had to sell for grocery money) used to nab me about 9000 in 3dmark2001 on the system in my signature.

[edit: the geforce3 was actually a ti200 at 240/530]

Too bad I really don't care, as I am probably going to replace my Kyro II with a nice 9500Pro, I almost have enough money, yay! Not gonna sell it tho, the thing is way too cool, and I dun think anyone would buy it anyways. :D

You could always be cheap and get a Radeon8500LE to replace that useless kyroII there if all you want to do is play BF1942...

Hmm, I think if you use Powerstrip, you can emulate Hardware TnL. Many Voodoo users have used it to play games that require Hardware TnL.

Sweet...didn't know this. I was going to replace my 3dfx V3 3000 with at GTS all because of a game that requires Hardware TNL. I'm only using this as a server and didn't want to invest any more than needed. I'm going to investigate this further....thanks!

Try the message boards here for more info. That said, I'm not sure how well a Voodoo3 is going to run BF1942.

Getting a new card for BF1942 would be worth it. The game is too much fun online (and single player). For reference, a friend has a GF3 Ti200 and his plays fine at 800x600 with medium detail and low sound settings - any higher res and it gets a little choppy but it looks just fine at 800x600. My 9700Pro absolutely rocks at 1024x960 with max detail and sound settings - completely smooth. Good luck!

I can't play this game, I get black and blue screen no matter what options i choose. I have only a 64mb intergrated video card or a 64 mb tnt2 card. LOL I'm buying a new card ASAP though. THis game is the first i've been unable to play that i've tried. Well UT2K3 ran killer ugly on the demo version. But I play RTCW, BHD:multiplayer demo, all the time. MOH did run bad on the forrest levels.
