I just bought 1942 for both my computers. I am having issues with both computers trying to get the Mouse/Keyboard,Joystick and Controller to all work. For this topic I will just go over my main computers issues.

Microsoft Sidewinder2 Joystick USB. - Works perfectly. Can easily assign keys inside the 1942 config/controls menu.

Gravis Eliminator AfterShock Controller USB - I can get it to work only if I tweak the keys inside its own program, but no analog stick to drive the vehicles.

Mouse/Keyboard - Works just fine.

Now have any of you been able to get a analog controller to operate the vehicles? What did you do to get it to work or recognize inside the game.

My Control Panel : Game Controllers shows both joystick and controller and both function in the properties area just fine.
Just with the controller I cannot go into the config/controls area of 1942 and just press the keys I want the controller to do. I know these darn computer controllers have alot of different varibles that could cause them not to work, and usually for me are always a pain to get working. Any tips on getting my controller to actually assign its buttons to the functions I want them to do?

Any good " anandtech " quality forums for BF1942?

Can't help you.
I have had some problems with having a USB joystick and a USB connection to my digicam.
But it seems to be intermittent.

You might try bf42.com
or these forums

They use to be pretty good.
