Battlefield 1942: Is Secret Weapons expansion free download or purchased?

They have a big announcement on their official website and it seems like it's an announcement for a downloadable expansion but it doesn't say where to get it. There is no mention of release date or if it's released in stores.

Hmm, I paid $19.42 for BF1942 when it first came out... I did pay more for RtR expansion but damned if I am going to do it again for a fantasy weapons pack that will probably be even less popular online. Mebbe wait for the bargain bin on this one, if at all.
