Battlefield 1942 (and Desert Combat mod) tweaks?

Just wondering if there's any tweaks to increase performance. I don't have much faith in EA since they STILL haven't corrected the stupid refresh rate crap that was designed around a bug in Windows XP... morons. Anyway, are there any settings or tweaks that exist to help performance a bit... basically what I'm having trouble with is the mouse inputs seem to lag slightly, but frame rates are not the problem.

b) you've provided no system specs or information. this includes both hardware and software

Does it happen in single player? You could try increasing the report rate and using a PS/2 mouse instead of USB if you are.

The refresh rate problem has a very easy workaround.
In VideoDefault.con, change allowAllRefreshRates from 0 to 1.
I use multires to lock the refresh rates.
Then just select the refresh rate you want in the games video options.

Other than that, I don't know what your problem is.
