Battle Royale

So I had been hearing about this movie from Japan called Battle Royale for a long time. It's basically like a government enforced Lord of the Flies, where a class of high schoolers are chosen every year to go to an island and fight to the death. The violence was pretty much over the top, and I ended up thinking it was a pretty cool movie.

Have any of you seen this movie? If so, what did you think of it.

It was lame. I unfortunately had it overhyped by one of my frat brothers. Had me convinced it'd be the greatest movie ever.

guess what, it's not. Even if it wasn't overhyped I would not have concidered it better than a mediocre movie. But then again, i consider it similar to Kill Bill (first half,) where there isn't really a movie, but just silly gore.

it's good cheesy fun if nobody hypes up the film for you and raises your expectations.
