Anybody seen this movie yet? I have to admit, i wasn't a big fan of the first one. But i knew a lot of people that liked it, and often talked about what i didn't like about it, so i decided to get BR2, since it seemed to have had a bigger budget.
Will, it definitely shows the bigger budget. Effects and camera work was much better. But the story was even worse than BR1. I literally had to force myself to watch it, since i knew my friends would eventually see it and i would have had to watch it to be able to argue with them about it. But i just couldn't finish it. The storyline was completely different than BR1... no longer is it really a battle royale, but a bunch of kids again chosen randomly by a revised BR Act, who are equiped with military gear and sent to fight the kid that survived in the first BR (who has become a terrorist). I won't give out any spoilers, not like they're worth anything anyways. Violence has definitely gone up, but the story was simply awful. They tried to make everything so deep, why the BR Act was inplace, why the terrorists were terrorists, etc etc, but they weren't deep or insightful... well, maybe if you're 12 years old (but with the number of violence in this, i don't think that was the target audience). And all that freaking yelling... that was 90% of the dialogue, just people yelling and screaming at one another.
Very rarely do i not completely watch a movie, but this was definitely one of them. Like i said, i had to force myself through it, and even then i just couldn't stand all the bad 'insightful' moments, all the yelling, and just stupid side stories (of how some of the kids got to where they are).
