Battery Run Time: Pentium-M laptops

I tested my IBM T40 today running on the battery and wondering how much time everyone get with Pentium-M laptops. Let's post the battery run time (estimate based on the partial run is fine as long as you run it more than half way of the battery capacity). Here I go

IBM T40
Pentium-M 1.6GHz | ATI M9 32MB | 512MB | 80GB
6-cell Battery
Power Setting: Word Processor/E-mail (similar to Laptop/Portable)
Disabled Wireless and Bluetooth
Battery Run Time [hrs]:
3.0 hrs (intensive softwares installation throughout the period + backlight halfway (4 notches))
4.0 hrs (normal operation, estimated + backlight halfway (4 notches))

Mocca

Didn't that CNet roundup say the T40 could get 7 hours? That's what made me feel so sh*tty about buying the Dell 600M.

Nothing scientific, but I would say my battery life is about the same, maybe slightly less than yours.

The T40 does get 7hrs on the 9-cell battery.

Which adds weight and thickness to the laptop

my 600M gets about the same as yours does, maybe 15-30 minutes less than your normal operation time, but its close.
I've got a 1.3ghz p-m Radeon 9000 mobility 64MB 348MB of ram and a 40GB IBM 40GNX hard drive.

This is with wireless on.

IBM T40 2373-92U
Pentium-M 1.6GHz | ATI M9 32MB | 512MB | 80GB
9-cell Battery/6-cell Battery (yes I got both 🙂)
Power Setting: Thinkpad Default
Enabled Wireless, Disabled Bluetooth
(thanks mocca... i ripped right off your post🙂)
Battery Run Time [hrs]:
6-cell: 4 hours (backlight @ 4, files transferring some of the time, IM, PDF)
9-cell: ~6.5+ hours (backlight@4, MP3's, IM'ing, typing)

Love the battery life on this 🙂
And the 9-cell doesn't add much to the machine, just a little bulk and weight; still lighter than the 600m with it though. I use the 9-cell for when I'm at the library, and the 6-cell most other places
