Dried battery acid?

I wouldn't think acid would "dry" onto a metal contact and still be dangerous in the least. Not to mention while you don't want to bathe in battery acid, it won't peel your flesh off if it touches you.

I would just clean the contact with some kind of abrasive scrubbing device, like you do with any battery contact.
