Battery Powered Mowers?

Just got a 40V battery lawn mower. Self propelled, but didn't really need that. Holds two batteries, but only uses one at a time. When depleted, you remove, rotate and reinsert a plug to use the other.

Holding a lever, pushing a button and listening to the blades wind up and sound like a fan will take some getting used to, but sure beats adding gas, oil and yanking a on a rope.

Batteries seem to take quite a while to charge even with a 'rapid charger', so that'll take some planning. Not sure how much run time I'll get in real use. Manufacturer estimates say 70 minutes.

No grass to mow just quite yet, but did a quick test area yesterday and it seemed to do fine.

40V HP 21 BRUSHLESS CROSSCUT SELF-PROPELLED MOWER | RYOBI ...

Brushless motor, dual blades that are supposed to leave a better cut.

I'm kind of eyeing the 80v Greenworks one myself as I already bought the chainsaw and the snow shovel so have 2 batteries. Only really used the snow shovel so far as any trees I want to cut with the chainsaw are physically inaccessible at this point and won't be for a few more months at least, but I'm quite impressed at the power.

Battery stuff has come a long way in the past few years. My goal is to eventually be 100% electric for everything including vehicle. Be a while before I can afford that though.

search might help here.

EGO 56V. I've had their original mower, 7 seasons and going like new. I am on .35 acre. Still on original 2.5Ah batteries.

Now, they have 3-4 gen Mowers with 7.5Ah batteries, self propulsion, double cautting blades and whatnot. Available at Lowes.
